KINGSTON — Lucas McKinley scored a pair of goals as the Nipissing Lakers wrapped up their OUA men's hockey regular schedule with a 6-4 win over the Queen's Gaels, Saturday.
With the win, the Lakers finish the season with a 17-7-4 record, third place in the OUA East. They are expected to face the Ottawa Gee Gees (14-13-1) in the best-of-three opening round of playoffs.
Conor O'Donnell, Dan Watt, Doug Clarkson and Dorian Peca also scored for the Lakers, who led 2-1 after the first period and 5-2 after the second.
Goaltender Kyle Cantlon made 34 saves for the win.
Joey Derochie, Brandon Perry, Jordan Mirwaldt and Corey Bureau scored for Queen's (13-12-2), who finish eighth and will face the McGill Redmen in the opening round.
