Nipissing University has embarked on a $14 million construction
project to expand the Robert J. Surtees Student Athletics Centre to
address the increasing demand for physical health facilities and
multi-use activity spaces.
The expansion features a double gymnasium, new exercise area and
additional change room space for various user groups. It will provides
state-of-the-art athletics facilities for the student population,
improved extracurricular programming and offers additional space for
community events. The new facility will also play a key role in
providing enhanced programming for the growing Bachelor of Physical and
Health Education program that prepares students to become community
leaders in the education and promotion of health, active lifestyles.
