Lakers edge Paladins The Nipissing Lakers picked up two important points Saturday night against the RMC Paladins, but they sure had to fight for them.
The Nipissing Lakers put an exclamation point on an important road victory with a four-goal barrage in a span of less than four minutes during the second period in a 7-0 win over the Ryerson Rams, Thursday night.
The January 21 – 22 weekend saw varsity ski teams from Carleton, Queen’s, University of Toronto, Guelph, Waterloo, Laurentian, and Nipissing University gather at the North Bay Nordic Ski Club for two days of varsity racing.
It was another classic chapter in the battle between the top two ranked teams in the OCAA as extra points were needed in the 5th set as Humber egded the Lady Lakers 3-2 (25-18, 23-25, 15-25, 25-23, 16-14).
The visiting Humber Hawks (12-1) handed the Lakers (10-1) their first regular season loss with a 3-1 victory (21-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-16).
The Nipissing Lakers men's hockey team weathered the storm, coming back from a 2-1 deficit to claim a 3-2 win over the RMC Paladins in Kingston, Saturday. |

The Nipissing Lady Lakers (10-3) dropped a 3-2 (25-21, 13-25, 25-20, 21-25, 17-15) decision to the Niagara Knights (7-6) Saturday before rebounding with a 3-0 sweep of the Sheridan Bruins (7-7) to end a disappointing road trip.
